Cultural Canocota Hiking

ITINERARY:

DAY 01. AREQUIPA – COLCA/CANOCOTA - CHIVAY

6:30am. Pick up from Hotel in Arequipa  by Private Tourist Transportation and leave from the city to our destination : Colca Canyon / Chivay. Arriving around 11 am in  Chivay Town. There we have a short   coffee break and get some snacks for lunch.  Then we continue to Canocota Village and driving for 30 minutes to get in there. From the  Canocota´s Square we start a walking for 3 hours a longside the Colca River up to  Hot Spring “La Calera” near to Chivay Town.

Again over here we catch our transportation to Continue to Chivay , accommodation and dinner with entertained or enlivened by folk show with dancers performing the typical local dances of  Colca Region. Overnight.

DAY 02 . CHIVAY – CONDOR CROSS - AREQUIPA

6:30 am . After breakfast  we leave to see the condors , mythical and sacred giant birds , soaring between  the blue sky  and volcanic mountains  ( Chila Mountain Ranges )meanwhile the colca river flowing down noisily  in the bottom with its weird shape like a snake.

To get the condor cross view point is driving one hour approximately crossing traditional villages as Yanque, Maca  and Pinchollo and lookout spots.

After the visit Condor Cross Lookout Point we can walk by a beautiful and amazing  shore  of the canyon ridge through a very and safe  marked trail, appreciating some Andean humming birds, hawks and eagles and variety of bushes. 

Return to Chivay visiting the important view points. Lunch  near Chivay Town. Finally we come back to Arequipa City  and arriving about 5 pm.
