The afternoon ride offers us a peaceful journey under the shadow of the mountains in a setting straight out of the Old West. The peaceful and secluded setting creates an atmosphere of mystery along a trail that runs along the Colca River, crossing irrigation ditches and fields. You won't regret it. Come with us!

Itinerary

We begin the 3 hours horseback riding adventure from "La Calera Hot Spring" in Chivay. Recreational area where we take our well trained horses equipped with saddles, bridles, etc. We pass through a landscape of trees, tiny agricultural terraces; surrounding mountains that jealously guard the Colca River, which flows boisterously yet silently in some sections. Along the way, wild plants and cacties defying the rough rocks with their heights, birds whistling and flying , and the blue Andean sky with cottony clouds forming strange and indecipherable shapes. Little by little, we ascend a path that winds along the course of the Colca River. The magnificently trained horses will take us up the stone steps to the top of a plain, where the livestock (as cows, donkeys, and sheep ) graze; and fields with food products. We follow an ancient Inca trail leading us to the village of Canocota.

Here we have a rest for some biscuits and refreshing bottled water.
